CRISIS TECH
The past couple of years have been a continuous onslaught of once-in-a-lifetime crises. These challenges, ranging from the Covid-19 epidemic to the ongoing "Swords of Iron" war, have pushed humanity to the brink, both globally and locally, and have proved that we can never be too prepared.

In this years hackathon, we will focus on finding ways to soften the initial blow and shock produced by these said crises. More specific details to come...
01
First mile/ Last mile
Planning a point-to-point journey by integrating public transport with ride-hailing, ride-sharing, vehicle-sharing, and smart ticketing services while taking into consideration personal preferences. We can also look at providing high walkability paths as an alternative to gas/electric vehicles. In other words, MaaS – mobility as a service.
Personal preferences will affect the cost, the preferred type of transportation during routes, walking goals and so on. For instance, at night most people will prefer to walk in crowded and well lit paths. In addition, when in a hurry you would probably rather pay more to get to your destination faster.
03
City under construction
Mobility is heavily affected by the permanent and occasional roadblocks caused by the Light rail lines construction sites, the addition of bike lanes, etc. How many times have you stumbled upon a blocked street with nowhere to go? Or took a bus where the driver skipped stops because his lane wasn’t updated?
One direction to solving this challenge is a technological solution updating live bus routes based on reported road blocks (construction sites, demonstrations). Another direction can be implementing a comprehensive mobility management system that can be used throughout different platforms
05
Sustainable-mobility
Known as "Active Mobility" worldwide. Encompassing physical activities such as walking and cycling with all their associated health benefits.
Motivating more people to lead sustainable lifestyles and measuring the actual impact of transportation on the environment. This requires finding effective solutions, raising awareness and finding a balance between citizen participation and privacy concerns. The need to monitor citizens activities to assess their part in the overall pollution while taking into account the possible violation of residents privacy. Motivation to pollute less can be achieved by incentives.
02
Two-wheeler thefts
As a two-wheeled vehicle owner you’re always worried and obsessing about where you can leave your wheels and if they’ll be there when you come back. As surveys show, the phenomenon of stealing electric tools is rapidly growing.
In your solution you can address how to better secure vehicles. Alternatively, you can establish an application that will allow an owner to retrieve their wheels when found by an inspector or a police officer.

04
Logistic Transportation
Logistic transportation creates congestion and pollution challenges in cities worldwide. There are two ways to address this problem. On the one hand, adapting small logistic vehicles (cargo bikes, drones etc). On the other hand, optimizing existing transportation by managing docking areas and sharing cargo vehicles.
For example, managing for each docking areas in the city “appointments” for different vendors. Another solution can focus on addressing illegal blockage of docking areas by private cars. A different approach is to focus on a shared logistic transportation vehicle based platform.

06
Communal & Collaborative Mobility
Public transits serve as a meeting place for people, fostering social bonds while promoting sustainability. Connecting individuals during rides that share common interests, working in similar fields. Shared private vehicles aim to optimize resource utilization, addressing parking challenges and reducing congestion while considering subjects like security and convenience.
Collaborative solutions, such as encouraging carpooling and shared parking need to take into account insurance aspects.
We encourage you to explore ideas not related to these problems, however it is your responsibility to ensure their relevance to the hackathon's theme.
PRIZES
In light of the serious tone of this year's hackathon, and in respect to those less fortunate, we have decided to forego a monetary prize this year. All intended cash prizes (in addition to excess funds) will be donated to the charity of the winners' choosing.
Besides this, the winners will receive the opportunity to continue expanding their idea with the guidance of the startup industry's foremost experts.
